An Evening Walk

Upon the stone paved walk
Two travelers paused to talk
They spoke of the latest events in Town
And of Madams latest gown

A barber ran amuck
A patron out of luck
The Doctor in his abode
Lost a patient so they heard

The Town Crier came to pass
He yelled, the Mayor will do the task
And as they chatted on
There came a striking Blonde

She glanced, as if to know
There names were, ah! so and so
Pardon, Madam he spoke with Glee
your name, Madam before you flee

She looked as if quiet amused
A smile, a shutter and then withdrew
Alas the two resumed their chat
On with the News, and enough of that

Out with a crash flew Billy Flegg
And landed with his head upon my Leg
The Tavern Doors looked worst for wear
There was Blood about everywhere

A person screeched, a Gun did blast
From behind a Door clad in a Mask
Came the Villain, Danny Fart
Aiming his Gun straight at my Heart

I took a Breathe of cool night air
And at Him I gave my coldest stare
Your time has come, of that I’m sure
Now place your Hands against the Wall

He snarled, he growled and then he leaped
Not a me, but off the step
My voice cried out against the noise
I checked myself, a striking poise

The travelers lent to speak
Their words were secret and discrete
This Town we’re in, promotes good talk
Turned away and off they walked

I Glanced about the lights were Dim
My reflection bounced back from within
Dressed in Black, a striking Man
Light exposing my deep dark tan
A grin exposed, with thoughts so vain
And then I felt this burning Pain
The Rouge that stood before me then
Had struck at me yet again

The night cooled against my Brow
I let out a shallow Scowl
With trembling hands I felt my Chest
One last glance, my Hair, forget the Rest

A body now lay, still and cold
To Die so young, not that old
My Life had been all for me
I now lay down for all to see
